How a class day runs
We work through the material the way it shows up on your line — temperature control, cross-contamination, cleaning and sanitizing, allergens, receiving and storage, and the record-keeping your health inspector expects. The afternoon is review, then the registered, proctored online exam. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID.

Questions we get asked
What is included in the $225 Manager package?
Live instructor-led training with an RMS instructor, the official ServSafe Manager 9th Edition book, your ServSafe Manager online exam access code, RMS preparation and review, a registered proctored exam appointment, and follow-up support while your certificate is issued.
Is the exam online?
Yes. RMS registers you for the online ServSafe Manager exam and proctors the session. The exam is still a supervised, controlled testing appointment — you cannot take it casually at home without a registered proctor.
When will I receive results?
Online testing is scored electronically, which is generally faster than paper testing. Your official result and certificate are released by ServSafe once their processing and verification steps are complete.
What happens if I do not pass?
We review the areas you missed and schedule a retest. The RMS Student Retest is $75 for prior RMS students, and a new exam access code is required for each attempt. ServSafe retest eligibility and waiting-period rules apply.
What is the difference between the $225 in-person package and the $249 live virtual package?
The $225 package is our in-person class with a registered, RMS-proctored exam appointment. The $249 RMS Live Virtual ServSafe Manager Certification Package delivers the same instructor-led preparation live online, with study material support, RMS review, and written instructions for scheduling an approved remote online exam through the official proctoring service. Choose virtual when travelling to a class date is not practical.
Can RMS train my whole team?
Yes. We deliver private and group training on-site at your location, at an RMS location, or live virtually where the format allows, including multi-location and franchise groups. Request a group quote and we will build the schedule around your operation.
Do you offer exam-only appointments?
Yes. If you have already prepared, the $95 exam-only option gives you an online exam access code, a registered proctored appointment, and written testing-day instructions.
What should I bring to class or testing?
A valid government-issued photo ID is required for testing. Bring something to write with, your book if we issued it ahead of class, and arrive a few minutes early so check-in does not cut into your testing time.
Can I reschedule?
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy: Registration fees are nonrefundable once official ServSafe materials or exam access codes have been ordered, assigned, or issued. Participants who need to change their scheduled class or exam appointment may request one reschedule at no additional charge when RMS receives notice at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time. Requests made with less than 48 hours’ notice, missed appointments, or no-shows may require a new exam access code and/or additional fees before a new date can be scheduled. Any rescheduled class or exam must be completed within 90 days of the original scheduled date, subject to instructor/proctor availability and applicable ServSafe retest rules.
